Health Science Technology
Overview
The Health Science Technology pathways prepare students for both emergency response and patient-centered care through hands-on, career-connected coursework.
Students may pursue Emergency Care pathways that progress from
foundational medical training for firefighters and law enforcement to EMT
certification and advanced internships, emphasizing patient assessment, critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, and realistic emergency scenarios alongside statewide Opportunities in Emergency Care (OEC) experiences.
Additional pathways focus on long-term care and nursing support, where
students complete clinical rotations in care facilities, prepare for Nursing
Assistant certification, and advance into internship-level training that builds
skills in resident care, medication administration concepts, and professional
responsibility—preparing students for further education and a wide range of
healthcare careers.
